The most impressive gain with the newest Mesa and kernel code boosts the Nexuiz frame-rate at 1920 x 1080 with high quality settings from just 2 FPS to now running at 12 FPS. But if you want a playable experience at this resolution and with these settings you will need Intel Sandy Bridge graphics or switch over to an AMD/ATI or NVIDIA discrete solution with either the open or closed-source drivers.

VDrift's performance was up by 37% on this Intel Clarkdale system.

Things are looking up for open-source graphics drivers in 2011 and this is good news for end-users in the coming months. More tests next week.
