Windows 11 vs. Ubuntu Linux Performance On The Intel Core Ultra 7 Meteor Lake

7-Zip was slightly faster on Linux than Windows 11 for this laptop.

FLAC Audio Encoding benchmark with settings of WAV To FLAC. Ubuntu 23.10 + Linux 6.7 was the fastest.
LAME MP3 Encoding benchmark with settings of WAV To MP3. Ubuntu 23.10 + Linux 6.7 was the fastest.
WavPack Audio Encoding benchmark with settings of WAV To WavPack. Ubuntu 23.10 + Linux 6.7 was the fastest.

For single-threaded audio encoding tests with FLAC, WebPack, and MP3 formats, Ubuntu came out slightly ahead of Windows 11. This single-threaded testing was one of the areas I was most curious about to see if there was any significant difference that may indicate poor E vs. P core selection on either operating system. But the results at least for these tests were close.

libjpeg-turbo tjbench benchmark with settings of Test: Decompression Throughput. Windows 11 was the fastest.

Windows 11 was slightly faster with libjpeg-turbo.
