AMDVLK vs. Mesa RADV Radeon Vulkan Driver Performance On Linux
With 3DMark Wild Life Extreme running natively on Linux, which isn't publicly available but just made available to hardware vendors and UL partners, it was a rare case where AMDVLK was performing clearly better than RADV on both of the AMD RDNA3 graphics cards tested.
if taking the geometric mean of all the benchmarks conducted for this article, RADV comes out about 1% faster than AMDVLK for the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. With the RX 7900 XT, the RADV driver had a 6% advantage overall due to several cases where the AMDVLK performance was measurably lower for that particular graphics card. For the Radeon RX 7600 it's also a win for RADV considering the current AMDVLK release doesn't even support that new graphics card yet.
