The Nexuiz game is far from being playable on this slow R500 mobile GPU, but its performance is down with 7.12-devel Git.

Why is Mesa 7.12-devel running slower? Well, that is a good question. I will likely have the Phoronix Test Suite stack bisect the R300g issue(s) over Christmas and I will dig a bit deeper into the problem this weekend. Stay tuned on Twitter for live Christmas updates. I'm just sharing the initial information on this problem now to spark some (interesting and entertaining) forum discussions and hopefully hear what others are encountering if using the latest code of this open-source but performance-challenged driver. This article is just part one.
