The Linux 3.13 Kernel Is A Must-Have For AMD RadeonSI Users

Originally the Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2 Source Engine benchmarks were going to be used, but when trying out the OpenBenchmarking.org test profile with its pre-recorded demo, it turns out there's been an update shipped down via Steam that breaks compatibility with the older time demos. Thus they were skipped; see running benchmarks on other new Linux games.

Tests were also going to be done with the Linux 3.12 kernel and manually enabling Radeon DPM, which has been done in some earlier Phoronix articles, but it can be hard to justify the extra test runs due to the great number of readers using AdBlock, etc.

The R600 Gallium3D benchmarks to be shown in another Phoronix article in the days ahead are also very exciting.
