HP Z6 G5 A

While not having a comparable AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 series workstation from any other major OEM at this time for doing a side-by-side comparison, I've been using the HP Z6 G5 A workstation a ton over the past month for my Threadripper PRO 7995WX Linux-focused testing. Among the benchmarks in other articles with this workstation include:

- AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX Linux Performance Benchmarks

- Benchmarking Five Linux Distros Against Windows 11 On The Threadripper PRO 7995WX / HP Z6 G5 A

- SNC/NPS Tuning For Ryzen Threadripper 7000 Series To Further Boost Performance

- Ubuntu Linux Squeezes ~20% More Performance Than Windows 11 On New AMD Zen 4 Threadripper

Plus I have some additional follow-up articles and other benchmarks on the way from this 96-core / 192-thread beast.

Overall I'm very pleased with the HP Z6 G5 A workstation from its sufficient air cooling for the Threadripper PRO 7000 series to all the tool-free access support and great build quality. The HP Z6 G5 A as tested originally shipped with Windows 11 Pro but HP does officially support Ubuntu on this system and I've had no troubles running recent Linux distributions on this system as shown in the various articles thus far and more Linux tests remain ongoing. The HP Z6 G5 A is a terrific and powerful tower (and rackmount-able) workstation for those looking at leveraging the excellent performance and I/O capabilities of the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 series processors.
