Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Is Getting Close To Launching On Linux
Valve is finally getting ready to bring Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to Linux!
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an update to Counter-Strike: Source that was released for Windows and OS X two years ago. This new game features revamped classic maps, new maps/characters/models, and various engine improvements while still being based on the Source Engine. For any Linux gamers into first person shooters, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be a very welcome addition.
A large CS: GO update was pushed down over Steam and one of the changes list "Updated a large number of systems necessary for the Linux client." Valve had ported CS: GO to Linux and graphics driver developers have been optimizing for CS:GO going back months while now in later September hopefully we will finally see the game surface for all Linux users.
