With the Intel Core i7 Haswell desktop system upgraded to the Linux 3.18 kernel and Mesa 10.5-devel, the Xonotic game with ultra image quality settings was now running on par with the closed-source Windows driver. For once the Haswell Linux performance under this demanding open-source game was at the same level as the closed-source Linux driver, which is a huge improvement over the state of the Intel Haswell Linux support at the end of 2013.

Xonotic with ultimate image quality settings was nearly the same story with Ubuntu 14.10's Intel driver support coming up just a few frames shy of Windows 7 with the latest Intel driver.

The Plot3D performance showed the latest Intel open-source Linux graphics driver performance coming up just short of the latest Intel Windows driver.

Furmark didn't show much improvement this year with the Intel Haswell Linux driver with the Windows code still being a fair amount faster.
