Mesa Lands Support Improvements For Haiku
For users of Haiku, the open-source BeOS-inspired platform, there's now better mainline support for the operating system with the open-source Mesa graphics drivers.
A number of Mesa commits were pushed on Friday that improve Haiku's support. Pushed was support for building Haiku's OpenGL within Mesa to take control of Haiku's "OpenGL Kit", the first Haiku renderer which is a Softpipe implementation, and then also merged were other Haiku-related work for the Mesa graphics drivers.
Haiku support has been available in upstream Mesa going back several years, but Haiku platform work doesn't tend to go into Mesa too frequently. These Haiku improvements will be part of the Mesa 10.0 release due out around November.
