But SurfaceFlinger is not good enough to use for a desktop, just try any of those Android-based desktop GUIs and see how bad that input lag, window moving and alt tabbing is.Last edited by Britoid; 27 November 2023, 06:09 AM.

Topic: While some of his points are valid (like lack of global window positioning but I can't really understand why this is such a big deal, seems more like inconvenience rather than lack of crucial feature) then how it's Wayland fault that NVIDIA driver crashes when creating swapchain or some Qt functionality is broken and requires hacks? CSD point is also not valid, Qt already handles that, libdecor also exists and it's used by big software (like SDL or Blender) without issues. Good thing that at least they didn't remove it and only disabled by default but still that rant is quite funny in my opinion.Last edited by dragon321; 27 November 2023, 06:58 AM.

In basic scenarios where you use software from a repository Linux is ok. But just reach for software from outside the repository (e.g. Davinci Resolve or MATHLAB) and you may get a headache, as after a system update the program suddenly stops working.
On other systems take things do not happen - that is, they also have, but they are 100 times less frequent.
From download dramas to installation issues, we reveal how to fix the most common macOS 11 Big Sur problems. Spoiler alert: it's easier than you think!
If you're still experiencing a range of macOS 11 Big Sur problems long after making the switch, you're not alone. Although the operating system was released back in November 2020, some Mac users are still experiencing ongoing problems. While the arrival of macOS 11 was viewed by many as having been a long time coming, it's been a mixed bag in terms of the benefits and challenges some users have experienced.Last edited by Volta; 27 November 2023, 07:14 AM.
