AMD Radeon vs. Gallium3D Comparison

With Warsow 0.61, which has newer visuals and other engine improvements, the open-source stack has an even tougher time competing with the Catalyst driver. Even higher-end graphics cards like the Radeon HD 5830 had a difficult time running at 30 FPS on a 1920 x 1080 display while the Catalyst driver would approach 300 FPS. For lower-end ASICs, the Catalyst driver would still run multiple times faster.

When condensing the Warsow 0.61 data, it shows the Gallium3D driver on average across the tested Radeon hardware generations is about 9x faster when using the official AMD Catalyst driver.
