Starting off the GraphicsMagick tests with the HWB Color Space conversion, Kubuntu 9.04 had a very sizable lead over PC-BSD.

Kubuntu's lead continued with the local adaptive thresholding test where it was faster than PC-BSD by nearly twice as fast.

Even at simple image resizing, GraphicsMagick on Kubuntu remained much faster.

In our fourth and final GraphicsMagick test, Kubuntu remained well in front. With GraphicsMagick performing so much better on Kubuntu may be attributed to this open-source project using OpenMP for its multi-threading support and there being more optimizations in the most recent release of GCC that is used by the Ubuntu family.
