Running The Latest GNOME Wayland Shell On Fedora 20
While it shouldn't come as a major surprise, there's still a measurable performance overhead in running Linux OpenGL games through XWayland when using the Wayland-based GNOME Shell environment. What will be really interesting though is the performance of games when natively ported to run on Wayland and no longer reliant on a X.Org Server, when that's common, we'll be back with more benchmarks. More Linux graphics tests of Fedora 20 will come as the segmentation faults are fixed in Mutter and other improvements made ahead of the December release of this next Fedora Linux release.
