NVIDIA Releases Yet Another Linux Driver
It was just yesterday that NVIDIA released four new Linux drivers, but today they have pushed out a fifth proprietary Linux driver update. Yesterday one of their drivers released was version 180.25, which brought a host of VDPAU fixes and new GPU support, but replacing that is now 180.27.
The NVIDIA 180.27 x86/x86_64 display driver for Linux brings OpenGL 3.0 support for the GeForce 8 series and later. NVIDIA delivered a beta OpenGL 3.0 Linux driver back in October and various OpenGL 3.0 / GLSL 1.30 driver updates since then, but this release officially christens the new support.
Beyond announcing the OpenGL 3.0 Linux support there aren't officially any other changes in this release. The release announcement for the 180.27 Linux driver can be read at NvNews.net.
