Testing NVIDIA Optimus / DRI PRIME On Ubuntu 14.04
The open-source Nouveau driver failed to even work with the Unvanquished first person shooter.
The findings were similar with Unvanquished to that of OpenArena. While the NVIDIA binary blob led to the highest power use while gaming, on a performance-per-Watt basis it was still beating the Intel HD Graphics.
