    Yeah it does. windows port, purely, because WINE, and they clearly state it, reproduces bugs in software is less safe by defaults.

    Vulnerability in given program that affects windows port might easilly not be relevant to Linux!!!

      All Wine devs said is that Wine doesn't protect you from real malware that is Wine-aware, because it doesn't contain apps. The fact that it doesn't protect you from malware doesn't mean it is more susceptible to malware, that's a backwards logic.

      But Wine is an additional hurdle for malware to get out of before they can infect a Linux system. It's not proper security, but it is an extra layer. A Linux port with malware would be even more dangerous since it has direct access to Linux userland.

      That said, most Windows malware is not "Wine-aware" because they don't care about Linux or Wine, so Wine provides some "practical security" compared to a native port. (practical means it's in practice more secure, even if in theory it's not)
