That glass of wine is just begging to be knocked over followed by soggy electronics.

YOU ARE JUST A RACIST BIGOT WHO HATE WHITE PEOPLE. I'm not even white, but still. What you say makes no sense.

I was going to mention how there were Arabs in top 10 wealthiest people list but that is apparently no longer the case. Highly curious. I suspect something really interesting has been going on with the price of oil. Now wealthiest people are basically almost all American independent of ethnicity.

I always like the wide range of tasks that come out of this, nicely augmenting the coding-only projects the GSoC students work on.
Same for Google Code-In of course, which also allows non-coding tasks (though they probably mainly are coding related)

            Cheers,

That's racial profiling. Somehow it is frowned upon when non-white people are the victim of that...

That's a bit of a fallacy, since this really only applies to very few people - saying that most rich, powerful and privileged people are white doesn't automatically mean that every white person is rich, powerful and privileged.

Would be right if all white men had power, money and privilege.

It's not like that. even in white men category only a TINY minority gets the "it's not possible to discriminate because power/money/privilege" card.

Nice trolling, 7/10 you can do better.

Honest question: How is this not racist?
Honest answer: It's meant to promote diversity in technology fields. It does this by encouraging new interest in being involved in the industry from those groups. All mentioned groups are under-represented in the industry (meaning that their numbers do not match those in the general population). White men are currently over-represented. You will notice Asian men are left out as well as they are also over-represented.

It's SUPPOSED to promote diversity in technology fields. But whoever did the thinking ignores the most basic human psicology/sociology fundamentals.

                      Making special categories angers people.

Giving more value to someone because they are a minority angers people.

The reasons these minorities aren't well-represented is because of other reasons (usually someone in places of power is an ass), that this Outreachy thing does not do a damn about.
