I have seen support with the two above mentioned Chipsets, and I see you are using the 791e:

01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device 791e

You may need to wait for the drivers this month to come out.

It's been a long time. And I'm getting a whole lot of nothing out of a card I paid good money to get to work.

I'm hair close to opening my box and tearing my x800 to pieces, just to satisfy my growing angst.

I have no idea what caused my drivers to stop functioning and I have too much data to lose by reinstalling Fedora. Reinstalling Linux? Is that even a solution Linux-worthy?

The amount of up-time I have on my Fedora box has been close to zero. Everytime I see Mesa kills me. Rage3D boards have been of little help either. This is mucho sucko grande and I have no idea what that meant.

What errors do you have in your log or where exactly is it failing?

It's the same thing, Michael. The agp error and nobody seems to really know what to do.

Is AGP now so old that nobody even knows it exists? I find that hard to believe.

                Help with video playback !!

                Can anyone help please.

I am trying to get video playback working on a Mandriva2007 x64 system. Card is X1600 pro, Kernel 2.6.17, ati drivers 8.33.6. Opengl works, I guess I lucked out on that. However I can not get videos to play, movies or mpeg clips. I have the players installed and they work if I switch video driver to fbdev. I guess it is something missing from my xorg.conf file but I can not find any information on what options are needed to make video playback work. I am including my xorg.conf file; don't quite know what all the options are for, they were put there by xfdrake

Are your videos using the X-Video extension? At this time x86_64 Linux has a bug with X.Org 6.9+ when using X-Video. This bug should be fixed shortly.

Dunno, I assume you mean the players. I think mplayer does not reference X-Video in codecs.conf. Is there some specific method of determining that?

                      mplayer > preferences > Video

If xv is selected, for the time being you could switch to gl or gl2.
