    Is this different than FreeSync? I thought freesync was already supported by intel graphics on linux

      They already support Adaptive Sync (aka Free Sync), yes, but this seems like an optimization for the specific casz where an adapter (e.g DP to HDMI adapter) is connected and wants to expose Adaptive Sync functionality.

        Makes sense since Arc uses a protocol converter for HDMI 2.1 support. That could be a solution for AMD as well.

          Even if they didn't build it in, it'd take one engineer and, a few hundred dollars, and a half a day of work to test the top few adapters from Amazon, Newegg, and Walmart. They could do an end-run around the legal issues by making an official list of compatible adapters that support adaptive sync.
