With OpenArena we see while Ubuntu 13.10 was leading at all six resolutions tested, at the lower resolutions was where Linux had its greatest wins over Windows 8 and had narrowed at the higher resolutions up to 1920 x 1080.

For Unigine Sanctuary and Unigine Tropics, the performance delta was consistent for all resolutions tested. Microsoft Windows 8 was the clear-cut winner on this Core i7 Haswell Ultrabook with Iris Pro 5200 graphics over Ubuntu 13.10.

With the open-source Xonotic first person shooter results the data was more mixed in competing between Windows 8 and Ubuntu Linux, so overall for that test the results are a toss-up.
