The PandaBoard ES -- an upgrade over the OMAP4430-based PandaBoard -- was released last November. It would have been nice to see these changes in Ubuntu 11.10, but when those PandaBoard ES users (or anyone using the OMAP4460) upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 or any other Linux 3.1+ kernel will see notable performance boosts unless your earlier kernel was patched with the proper power management support for the Texas Instruments hardware.
