Intel Performance With Ubuntu Linux vs. Windows 8.1 Is A Mixed Bag

With the remainder of the GL3 GpuTest workloads, the Windows Intel performance for the HD Graphics 4600 core on the Core i7 4770K remained superior to the current open-source Intel Linux graphics driver.

As shown by the results today, the Windows vs. Linux OpenGL performance for Haswell is a mixed bag. It depends upon the OpenGL workload for which operating system and driver was faster, but in general in the more demanding OpenGL workloads (e.g. GpuTest, Unigine Engine, and Xonotic Ultra/Ultimate), Windows was faster than the tested Linux configurations.
