1080p/1440p Linux Gaming Performance For Radeon RX 590/Vega & NVIDIA 1060/1070/1080/2060/2070
Next up are the 1440p Linux gaming benchmarks. For the most part the games/tests are the same as at 1080p but tweaking some of the settings where otherwise the performance would turn unplayable at 1440p as well as adding in an extra test or two that came to mind.
BioShock Infinite at 1440p still isn't GPU demanding on today's hardware, but still worth pointing out that the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver was tapping out much lower than the NVIDIA cards tested, sans the GTX 1060. This was the same case as well with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Like at 1080p, while DiRT Rally was running at 1440p the Radeon RX Vega cards still came out ahead of the NVIDIA cards tested while the RX 590 nearly tied with the GTX 1060.
The Dota 2 performance was back to seeing the Radeon Linux driver stack still coming in short of where the NVIDIA cards were bottlenecked.
With the F1 2017 racing game, the RX Vega 64 reached the same level of performance as the RTX 2060 while the RX Vega 56 was just frames ahead of the GTX 1060.
When running the F1 2018 racing game under Steam Play, NVIDIA had the definite advantage similar to at 1080p.
