One of the changes catching my interest with Godot 4.0 Beta 8 is that the X11 code is now loaded dynamically. Godot continues making improvements to both its X11 and Wayland back-ends while this support on Linux to dynamically load X11 is important for the future Wayland-focused modern Linux desktop.
To clarify, there's no merged Wayland backend yet, but it's being worked on for a future 4.x release.
