True, not sure though if there is a specified nesting syntax, not very common in INI style files.

Sure, but not having to write one is even simpler.
As I said, improving uptake speed by using established technologies.

Nice try. But all those "distros" (except Debian) are commercial corporate crap. And Debian is supposed to be non-commercial but we all know that Debian is de-facto controlled by Red Hat now.

So OK, it's not just Red Hat. It's a whole bunch of parasitic corporations living off the community's efforts that is trying to impose this crap upon us. Such a big difference. Such a relief.

Except for that tiny little fact that "parasitic corporations" are the largest contributors to Linux, you are absolutely right.

biggest percent of contributions is from independent individuals
individuals that probably dont earn any money from linux

Competent individuals with non-toxic personalities tend to be nicked by parasitic companies so they can continue contributing but get money for it.

Yeah they contribute tons of totally useless stuff (and even outright harmful like systemd). Quantity != substance.

people contribute to linux without asking for anything in return

to be fair redhat did contribute a lot to linux in general, and i am very much grateful for it
still, saying that they don't profit from it is narrow minded

Look at the evidence? You haven't provided any. As a machine readable format, it is perfectly fine. Now if it was supposed to be something regular users would edit, I can see the problem but in this case, it is not.
