I think so. There's no Linux 6.2 in either testing or unstable at the moment, and the freeze policy looks like it prevents it.

6.1 is LTS anyway (6.2 should be a regular release), so that's what Debian 12 will have.

Super excited that KDE 5.27 is making it into this release.

Excellent news! I've been on bookworm Testing for last year and it's perfectly stable even for testing system. Soon it will be even better!

Have been using Bookworm for almost two years. Like usually, it has been a great Debian Testing experience.

Yes and no. Yes, Debian stable will always use LTS versions wherever possible. But no, using backports Or simply using the (still quite stable) testing branch will bring you the latest and greatest. But for obvious reasons that will be happening at some point after the Debian 12 release, as testing right now it's simply being made ready to be copied over into the stable branch before any backports and development for Debian 13 will be started. Maybe they'll skip 6.2 entirely.

Well, hopefully KDE's Plasma 5.27.2 or 5.27.3 and Frameworks 5.103 will get in.
And hopefully Mesa 23 will be released and will get in too.
It's enough that Linux kernel 6.1 was declared as LTS instead of the 6.2 and Debian will come with 6.1 kernel.
If it comes also with old versions of KDE software and Mesa drivers, the Debian 12 will be a very bad release.
The Debian developers / maintaines should just wait a bit more if that's what's needed to get these in.

Are they still not bundling the non free firmware by default?

Will wait for RC1 before installation, as is always the case.
