Window management was already solved in the 90s. Just saying.

      >On the design side, the biggest uncertainty is the mosaic behavior — it’s a novel approach to window management without much prior art.

I dont know, their mockup videos with the semi-automatic tiling really remind me of Windows 11, and the "maximized windows get their own workspace" reminds me of macoS.

I still think it's insane they removed the tray icons. Does anyone use gnome without the kstatusnotifieritem extension? They should also fix the app menu because it really sucks and it doesn't even sort automatically.

I wonder what are the advantages of floating windows... OSX / Windows compatibility? Showcasing wallpaper? Even most productivity apps basically expects to be full-screen emulate tiling WMs nowadays, think Ableton, Blender, DaVinci, Photoshop, Visual Studio Code... Even browsers use "tabbed" tiling.

As if you ever do manual opt-in!!! Last I know, you shove your changes down people's throats, and my fear is that you'll do the same with this major change.

They've over-simplified the problem with blank windows. They are too small. Put some content in then, like,
                  1. web page
                  2. IDE (gnome build)
                  3. word processor
                  4. spreadsheet
                  5. calender
                  6. email
                  7. ...

                    Nothing to do with aliens.
