Also we're talking about desktops linux distro therefore why are the names sailfish and tizen there? :/

Sure wayland already runs on a few non desktop linux distros but what does that mean for the desktop?
Mir already ships on phones that are on sale but that dosent mean its ready for the PC (IT does run on the PC but unity8 is not usable on there yet).

Face it all we have for the PC at the time of this post is X and then we have a demo of gnome along with a demo of unity8 everything else is just words and promises.

looks like there's bugs still but there you go.

Samsung is of course running Tizen on enlightenment, which does work on wayland. The point of bringing up Sailfish and Tizen is that Wayland is in fact working right now in legacy free environments, the problem is that the entire stack had to extended to support Wayland, you can't just expect code to magically support a new protocol without you doing anything. Which is what a lot of people like yourself seem to want to believe, if you wanted to just play around with Wayland, Weston has been around FOR YEARS.

Gnome is expected to have effectively full Wayland support in 3.16, and Plasma 5 and LxQt are waiting on Kwin support, which is expected to land by summer.
