Samsung is of course running Tizen on enlightenment, which does work on wayland. The point of bringing up Sailfish and Tizen is that Wayland is in fact working right now in legacy free environments, the problem is that the entire stack had to extended to support Wayland, you can't just expect code to magically support a new protocol without you doing anything. Which is what a lot of people like yourself seem to want to believe, if you wanted to just play around with Wayland, Weston has been around FOR YEARS.
Gnome is expected to have effectively full Wayland support in 3.16, and Plasma 5 and LxQt are waiting on Kwin support, which is expected to land by summer.
