    Mystro256 also has an example rpm to look at:
    https://github.com/Mystro256/amdgpu-pro-opencl-rpm
    It worked for me on opensuse 42.1 with the PRO 16.50 OpenCL files.
    Darktable sees a nice speedup :-)

            Tried that method from gearsongallium tonight on my SI. Grabbed amdgpu-pro 16.50, extracted a few files, and that was it. No need to rename anything or do "sed", you only need to create symlinks for libOpenCL as bellow. (--- in fact, if you rename libdrm_amdgpu.so to "libdrm_amdgpo.so" and do the sed command, you'll break the files and clinfo/blender will simply coredump---).

            ln -s libamdocl64.so libOpenCL.so
            ln -s libamdocl64.so libOpenCL.so.1
            ln -s libamdocl64.so libOpenCL.so.1.0.0

            This way, OpenCL works on OSS stack the same way it does with the -PRO stack Of course, it's still buggy and doesn't detect my card properly yet.

            libamdocl12cl64.so
            libamdocl64.so
            libdrm_amdgpu.so.1 -> libdrm_amdgpu.so.1.0.0
            libdrm_amdgpu.so.1.0.0
            libOpenCL.so -> libamdocl64.so
            libOpenCL.so.1 -> libamdocl64.so
            libOpenCL.so.1.0.0 -> libamdocl64.so

            Interestingly enough, clinfo/blender show my card as "Hainan" with the -PRO stack fully installed, but they correctly show it as "Pitcairn" when using the -PRO OCL on Arch with amdgpu+mesa. See:

            Obviously it does not correctly detect memory yet and shows my card as "8000 series" (it's a 7000 series R9 270X) and so I can't use this OpenCL yet, but it's at least a step forward, bridgman.

              Even for opensource ddx it is Tahiti and Hainan... where Verde and Oland are Hainan probably ... you can ignore that

              Remembering my GCN 1.1 APU is detected as 7700 series and Blender say Kalindi... but i don't complain, i am fine with lacking exact pretty names if it works

                dungeon I wouldn't mind having wrong names as long as the OpenCL works. Right now, if I try to render any scene, it says my OpenCL device is out of memory, which it's not.
                The clocks are wrong also. My card has a 1070 MHz clock, not 555 MHz. So I hope AMD will correct everything to make OpenCL work correctly.

                  I have noticed that rocm 1.4 is released, but opencl support seems to be limited to only polaris and fiji.
                  Is there any plan on supporting other gcn hardware? If so, when will that happen. Thx.

                    Yes, since ROCm platform supports only these then the ROCm OpenCL runtime is naturally restricted to them. I don't see older hardware being supported as there is a requirement on ROCm demanding PCIEx atomics, which are supported only by recent hardware.

                      Thanks for your reply, that's the impression I got from the spec.
                      However couple days ago, Mr. Bridgman said that the next release of rocm aims to bring opencl on the all open stack. I was hoping that it may change how rocm works currently. Still, thanks for your reply. Gotta get a polaris then XD
