AMD Sends Out Initial Linux Graphics Driver Support For The "Green Sardine"

    All of the announced cards (6800, 6800XT and 6900XT use the Sienna Cichlid GPU, just with different configurations and clocks.

    6800 uses 60 CU's while 6800XT uses 72 and 6900XT uses 80.

    Well the project names like Sienna Cichlid where there way before the marketing moniker "navi" was created..
    The devs working on the drivers are probably in close contact to the hardware / chip designers, so the naturally use the internal project name..

    Navi 21 is the name of the chip project, that's widely known. Sienna Cichlid is just something they invented for the code so we don't know for which chip the code is (or at least we're not supposed to know, but that just doesn't work).
    Same for Navi 22/Navy Flounder, Navi 23/Dimgrey Cavefish and now Lucienne/Green Sardine.

    It's likely I'd assign you another name so other's don't know that I'm talking about you when I do.
