I don't think we have colour-coded badges at AMD, but as long as you're talking about Alphas we did colour-code the carpets in the Markham office. The upper 3 floors were Red, Green and Blue respectively,

Ati logotype is Red

AMD logotype is green

Both are OK at AMD Merkham (former Ati Office)

but blue is Intel

They ended up as grey, which I guess was predictable.

Intel distinguishes between Engineers and other staff for free food? No wonder Apple and before that NeXT have such a low attrition rate. Steve never categorized people about what they get for free in the form of `perks.'

From that link, it sounds like they only distinguish between actual Intel employees, and external workers hired through 3rd parties.

On the face of it, that seems completely reasonable, although obviously in practice you can see why it looks pretty bad.

The building was commissioned back in the ATI days, before AMD bought us. None of the colours really align with vendor colour schemes... they're more like stylized CRT phosphor colours but darkened even more so they didn't look grungy after a couple of days.
