Phoronix: Intel Begins Rolling Out APX & AV10 Binaries For Their Linux Distribution

Ahead of any processors being released with support for Advanced Performance Extensions (APX) and Advanced Vector Extensions 10 (AVX10), Intel's in-house Clear Linux distribution is already beginning to roll-out binaries compiled for APX+AVX10 use...

I wonder how long it will take AMD to include APX+AVX10 into Ryzen / EPYC CPUs ? Ryzen 9 series..,.or perhaps Ryzen 10 ? That would kinda neat. Ryzen 10 now with AVX10. 10 for 10.

I will just put this here. AVX10/128 is a silly idea and should be completely removed from the specification.

Perhaps. But it exists and will not go away. AMD will have to bake it in at some point.

          Well, who cares?
How many people use AVX512, for example?

AVX10.1/512 will be found with the Intel Xeon Granite Rapids processors launching later this year.
This is a trivial change, relative to the existing level of AVX-512 support in Sapphire Rapids. The new functionality will come in AVX10.2.

given the timing of their enablement and beginning to see Clear Linux packages now, APX too may be coming this year with Granite Rapids.
Michael , you know Intel doesn't have any APX-supporting processors launching this year, or they'd have telegraphed it! You, yourself, have previously reported on their ISA support announcements:

Unlike AVX10.1, APX is a big change! I'm sure they're just building these packages for use in their simulators and perhaps even on test chips in their labs.
