Linux 3.5 Through Linux 4.4 Kernel Benchmarks: A 19-Way Kernel Showdown Shows Some Regressions

There isn't much to see from the REDIS results.

Well, those are the results from the 19 Linux kernels I was able to test from this Intel Xeon E5-2687W v3 + 16GB DDR4 + 120GB SSD + FirePro V7900 (Cayman) system. When doing such a large comparison, there were certainly more changes in performance than I would have anticipated for this kernel comparison going back to mid-2012. If there is enough interest and support I can see about bisecting some of these performance regressions (thanks in part to being able to reproduce them on this 20-threaded processor) to further analyze what's going on as well as running a similar kernel comparison on some other hardware.
