Not those models, but Stallman used a PC that featured a processor from that maker.

Why? Because it's open source? What processor?

He used a Lemote Yeeloong notebook with Loongson 2 processor.
But that was a long while ago, nowadays I think he uses a Thinkpad with libreboot.

So then how did Stallman get a hold of one?

I did quite a bit of browsing on the Lemote site using Google Translate. It appears that they produce many different Loongson products, from motherboards in all form factors to laptops, desktops, and rack-mounted servers. Unfortunately there isn't just a web store where you can buy these things, and they don't quote prices on the web. You have to contact the company for a quote. I have no idea if they'll sell/ship outside of China, but if you're really serious about buying something I suppose it couldn't hurt to ask.

Aliexpress seems to have three loongson boards listed.

During its day, there were distributors outside China. In Europe for example, the Yeelong netbooks were sold by Tekmote Electronics (now defunct) and KD85.
Also Mandriva Gdium with Loongson 2 was sold worldwide I think.
