      Andromeda who?
JK but seriously if we can have Android Apps work fine in Linux don't think we will be needing Desktop Android ever

Definitely something better than launching Chromium + widevine from Kodi in kiosk mode. Hopefully, the 720p and 2.0 audio limits are also gone then.

In any case, I'm looking forward to an Anbox beta!
        What about this https://github.com/asciidisco/plugin.video.netflix

It depends on unity? Someone who is able to develop something like anbox should really know better. omfg.

Maybe this could replace the current Android compatibility layer in Sailfish OS.

Depends on Unity? <yawn> ... KVM with VirGL and/or Intel passthrough GL is just around the corner, and even without them, my favourite games ( Clash of Clans etc ) run fine.

                It seriously depends on Unity?
What the hell? Is this a joke?

No software can seriously "depend on Unity". Thats like saying porting from Windows is impossible because it "depends on the Win32 shell".

So like Win32 programs, rip out the platform specific bullshit and draw pixels to either Xlib or SDL.

The rest of the lxc container stuff is still going to remain in Ubuntu for a few more years so that is still good.

                  Done. Next?

I just hope that usability doesn't suffer using the Kodi folder structure for Netflix.
(insert joke about Netflix and usability)
There is also some risk that the 720p and 2.0 audio limits will remain using this kodi plugin.

Ok, it uses kdialog (which in turn installs all sorts of kde dependencies) by default, but it's not even really needed.
