As great as Ubuntu Touch is, without VoLTE or SIP calls that can wake the device from sleep, it will be a no-go for many people.

I have a feeling ill be waiting until we get a rust mobile DE, afaik someone was working on something called catacomb? But I wonder if cosmic could ever become "mobile friendly"

For tablet use I am considering going for a Pine tablet for my next tablet. Not everyone needs phone capabilities for their tablet.

it shoukd be fine for daily usage, but in the end its a riscv device, this means it will have early adopter bugs, lackinf features like waydroid etc.

but the specs are high enough that browsing, videos, even some lighter games will work on it. but having a touch optimized distro will still be key, ive seen maybe one or two people looking at it, but I plan to spin my own pseudo distro if I do wind up getting one so I havent looked much into them.

Thanks for opening my mind to other tablet manufacturers.

Starlabs has a solid Linux tablet worth considering as well, you can pick the preinstalled Distro too.
