      I don't think so. It should be vendor-independent and as generic as possible to reach maximum number of machines.
      I received updates to this item whereas my Xiaomi laptop has no support from fwupd channels for any other "device" on board. But I think Secure Boot has to be enabled (which is true on my side) in order to have this thing updated.

        Even though general interest may be a little lower now, weeks after launch, I'd still be very much interested in seeing independent Linux benchmarks on Phoronix for this machine! Not for a buying decision any more as far as I am concerned (mine arrived last week), but to have a point of comparison for my setup.

        So far my Linux experience with this has been great! I installed OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and everything I need worked out of the box after firmware updates. I haven't yet had the time to tweak my install at all in terms of battery life or performance, so benchmarks on other systems could help me see if there are potential bottlenecks on mine.
