Jesus Christ, the Russia thing only started a month ago. Russia was relatively chill and was even considered for NATO until then. Are you some kind of state prosecutor just trying to find any arbitrary thing to stick to them? For years i read all the information about linux from this website. Now i just registered to answer this russian propaganda. I think users spreading this kind of russian propaganda should be banned from those websites permanently!
These are countries invaded by russia during past 100 years, Some of them many times.
Poland, Baltic states, Finland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Norway, Chechnya, Manchuria, Korea, Japan, Moldova, Georgia. There was full blown GENOCIDE in Chechnya! 100 years ago Georgia was forced to enter soviet uninon. It was occupation of full country for 70 years! Just like other members of soviet union.
In 1991 april 9 Georgia was declared independent, 2 years before that on the same day russian tanks were killing innocent people on the streets of capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Just like they do TODAY in Ukraine!
Even today russia has occupied territories of Georgia (abkhazia, samachablo->so called south osetia), Ukraine (Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk), Japan (Kuril islands), Moldova (Transnistria). There is war in Ukraine. It's full blown GENOCIDE. They kill all the people. They shoot schools, hospitals, churches anything. There are many videos of russian tanks shooting innocent civilians. Killing children with their mothers. And guys like these spread russian propaganda, admins should take actions and permanently ban him! I am sorry if this is not the place to write this kind of message. But i am Georgian myself i can not stand aside and just let them write this kind of bullshit. Many many Georgians went in Ukraine to fight for them, to fight for us! Because if russia wins in Ukraine, Georgia will be destroyed too.

Again, here in the adult world there's a huge difference between working with specific Russian companies and working with the Russian government. Even then, they've cut off code sharing between SailfishOS and the Russian offshoot Aurora while all of their Russian board members have resigned. Besides, being located on Russia's doorstep it's only natural that you're going to get close company relationships like this. Blaming Jolla for this is like blaming Canadian companies for working with American ones.

That's great to hear! I've been waiting for the source for their core Silica UI stuff, as well as basic dialer, messaging, and settings apps for nearly a decade. Where can I find that source?

I'm sure the Nemomobile devs would love to get their hands on that. It would save them a lot of time. It's a shame they've wasted so much time writing their own replacements.

This is wrong, the whole shell and half of the standard apps that come with the OS are proprietary garbage. In fact, Sailfish OS is around as proprietary as Android with the full google apps set installed replacing the AOSP app set.

I have absolutely zero doubt that you would fall for the image Jolla wants to represent itself as. But yes, 90% of that makes SailfishOS the thing we call "SailfishOS" aka the shell, most userland apps, services and SFOS demons are proprietary. Not surprised though that the Qt Company and KDE fanboys would fall for Jollas "We are so open, look here, Linux Smartphone OS" BS . AOSP is a more open linux based smartphone OS, A fully Googled Android rivals SFOS in terms of Openness.

Its more then 10 years now that they promised to FLOSS or at least OSS all that stuff, and still to this day nothing.

They've been fully open for years that their part-owners are also part-owners of much of their codebase. They'd said this time and time again when people have asked about fully open sourcing SailfishOS and they've had to explain why it hasn't happened. We're talking about a company that has had multiple instances of near bankruptcy and to get more money out of owners you often have to offer up whatever you own as collateral.

You're free to be uninformed, but try to keep it to yourself.

Putin is luring the far right and far left equally across EU and most likely around the world. Left parties at traditionally more Russian friendly. And the far right like Trump, UKIP, Le Pen, Orban, AFD,...are sympathising with like minded politicians. Plus they got support. But they also use there ties to spread misinformation. Of course Putin is inreressted to divide the western unity by helping to get selfish nationalists installed. Or commies as vassal regimes. IMHO Putin is less socialist than "democratic" diktator.
