I guess that really depends on where you live, for most of the "western world" that's actually a good price for a Pro laptop. I paid pretty much the same for my HP Elitebook 755 G5 almost 2 years ago, but yet again, 1000€ is minimum wage where I live.

Pity it doesn't come with an AMD option, these days they're the best option in basically all the IT sectors, it makes no sense to buy into Intel right now.

What's the point of the Freedom platform on Intel CPU ?
These things are riddled with holes.
They are effectively giving Intel sneaky guise of "open machine".

WHile point of their addded value on top of Clevo platform is openness.
WIthout that, one might just buy directly form Clevo.

Two memory sticks with different sizes? Is this single channel only??

Based on the options, it seems more like the mobo has 8 GB soldered on, and then you add additional memory via a single modular stick.

Sounds sweet, but I would have to upgrade. Once you've tried 16gb of memory on a laptop you'll never want to downsize.

Intel hardware can dualchannel with different sized sticks since a long while, with "flex memory" feature http://www.laptopmemoryupgrades.co.u...ory-technology

But apart from that, it's probably just to save some bucks, RAM is expensive
