Actually, I think I should apologize for misinformation. Now I am certain that I did something wrong in my setup.
I ran benchmark againts 2 days old mesa(without-patch), 2 days old mesa(with-patch) and todays mesa(newest) and I mostly get the same results. I doubt it is how it should go. Anyway my results:

    newest:

    33.62, 19.10, 5.92, 75.83, Welcome Center
    21.88, 26.59, 4.79, 43.16, Town Center
    7.88, 27.94, 17.30, 39.22, Raffle
    9.18, 57.31, 24.02, 80.00, Monument Island
    82.54, 28.04, 4.79, 146.22, Overall

    without-patch:

    22.27, 26.55, 5.04, 44.27, Town Center
    7.77, 28.06, 20.19, 40.24, Raffle
    9.16, 56.46, 24.48, 134.73, Monument Island
    83.04, 28.25, 5.04, 149.72, Overall

    with-patch:

    33.61, 19.28, 7.09, 61.08, Welcome Center
    21.63, 27.14, 11.06, 54.96, Town Center
    8.28, 28.25, 17.30, 54.19, Raffle
    9.18, 57.68, 22.39, 101.40, Monument Island
    82.70, 28.32, 4.38, 119.03, Overall

    Maybe someone has insights?

I'm also very interested in this! Alternative: Is there a 4.7 branch with DAL that I could compile?

Hmmm after looking into it, i think i'll just wait till they mainline it or produce another working staging branch.

I'm currently trying to compile it with 4.6.5 (the tree is 4.6.0), which isn't too hard, you just need to grab the 4.6.5 patch, adapt one file change, then remove 5 or so others, which are already applied.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but if I edit the file bioshock and replace what's there - #!/bin/sh
          export __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1
./saferun.sh ./bioshock.i386 "$@"" with the provided commands, the game doesn't run. In the terminal it says Game removed: AppID 8870 "BioShock Infinite", ProcID 10440
No cached sticky mapping in ActivateActionSet.Game update: AppID 8870 "BioShock Infinite", ProcID 10447, IP 0.0.0.0:0

I just changed the file beginning to #!/bin/bash and left the safe run stuff sandwhiched before the new code. I then launched the game, played until the statue, and quit (as when I approached Benjamin Franklin he was featureless until the gpu had a few seconds to 'detail him in' so I figured give the gpu a break, closed the game, and then...

bam! it relaunched with the benchmark, and gave me the following results: (Also, I'm running a Sapphire Tri-X r9 290, using Padoka PPA updated 24 hrs ago. Gallium 0.4, drm 2.43.0/4.4.0-28-generic, LLVM 3.9.0
