Plus, somehow I doubt that MS buying Epic can be viewed as legal problem with a middle-ware. (Unless EPIC is the middle-ware...)

      Maybe it's time for a what's-up-with-UT3-Linux-port Phoronix follow-up?

Well, I pinged him asking for an off the record comment for my own edification (No, you wouldn't get told any of it unless he said I could...) via my LGP email address- and to throw the natives a bone, they're getting restless... >:-)

We'll see if we get at least a finger update out of him here shortly...

I'm starting to think we will have bug free ATI drivers before seeing the UT3 client.

Next wine should handle it (or get a git snapshot) - at least for Geforce 8 series.

I'm not overall happy about that thinking, though, Kano.

It's that same sort of thinking that is perpetuating that there's no Linux client side demand for titles.

It's that same sort of expedient thinking that made the Quake3:Arena debacle as bad as it was back when it happened.

To be sure, if it goes on much longer (Another month or so...) I'm not going to fault people all that much if they resort to Wine/Cedega for that UT3 fix- but you won't find me buying it. No native client, no purchase- only exceptions would be me buying a title to evaluate for porting and those are few and far between.

You don't have to buy, you can try the demo too.

For me, the same rules apply for demos as for full versions.

No Native Client. Not going to bother.
