I did missread as Vulkan Audio!

Seriously, Valve should collaborate with Kronos to make Vulkan Audio.

Despite OpenAL is interesting, it didn't gain enough traction. Vulkan already has video in it, now Audio and GPUs could be used for cool Audio DSP-like stuff too.

Vulkan has a lot of traction...

That would be a nice extension to vulkan, especially since new technologies like ray traced audio establish we need a standardized way to do it on the GPU.
But I'm not familiar with valves audio sdk and if it would even make sense to put that into a new standard.

How, exactly? It doesn't even remotely sound the same.

            What's next:

Title: “GNOME announces new web browser”
You: “I did missread that as KDE!”

I used the Unity plugin more than 3 years ago and it was pretty solid already, with RadeonRays giving acceleration for baking on any GPU, and better than Google's Phonon in terms of capabilities.

I'll try it again and get up to date with the additions. Should be fun to make some demos.
