    Yes, the PS5 can run Vulkan apps, but the main API is proprietary, since it can go even lower level than Vulkan (on that specific hardware set).

        Driver side, yes. But that part got easier with Vulkan, since driver get thinner.
        For software it really depends on what you're looking at.
        In games it is already wider spread than OpenGL, but that is also due to the fact that OpenGL never was really popular.
        If however, you want to consider it taking over DirectX's place, then it's going rather slowly, tbh.

          It's less old than most projects and its used in most of them, along with all game engines. It couldn't have any better adoption in any universe, rofl. It's not questionable unless you literally don't even pay attention.
