Does Proton only work for games or also for apps? 'Cause I have one app that works perfectly under Wine (and has done so for the past 10 years, with every new released version of said software), but I'm always looking to get a bit more performance out of it. So could I use Proton for that?

I think you could use Proton for that app but it would get you the same performance as standard Wine – because it just *is* Wine + Vulkan patches and DX-11/12-to-Vulkan layer. So, if your app doesn’t need DX11/12, it should make no difference.

Thanks. It doesn't need DX at all, so I will stick to Wine then
