So like bitsquid , Qt 3d or amethyst the data driven rust game engine ; but retrofitted into an existing engine ?

Is Unity's attempt to release the editor on Linux dead already? It appears so to me.

I was under the impression that they kept it in sync. https://forum.unity.com/threads/unit....350256/page-2

Well, releases in a forum thread cannot be taken seriously, and the fact that it did not mature into something more serious in more than 2 years tells you a lot.

You are free to not take them seriously, but they work fine and afaik they still fix issues people report.

They just don't want to take the responsibility for an official release on Linux, which is understandable due to the usual reasons.

If keeping in sync is having 2017.3.0f1 as the latest linux version while windows is on 2017.3.0f3...

Also this new beta version isn't there.

should be up in a few days: https://forum.unity.com/threads/any-...3-soon.511446/

Linux is being treated as a second-class citizen so it gets updates later, but as I said they are still keeping it in sync.

Well 2017.3.0f1 is incredibly buggy so I was waiting for them to maybe update it, but so far...
