This is far to courteous and polite for you to have ever used Swing.

Indeed. I would never have ended up as Mono maintainer if not for three years with Java development on my undergraduate degree.

Your qualifications for being a mono maintainer involve an undergrad degree and 3 courses on java?

Have you ever gone you some porno-youtube site, had one of the many inviting thumbnails catch your eye, clicked on it, and begun enjoying the presentation, only to notice that there are one-too-many-dicks when the camera panned down?

          That's how I feel about Java/Swing.

My qualifications for being a Mono maintainer involve sufficient familiarity with Java that when a need for cross-platform development came along in my post-education career, Java was NOT an option. Whereas Java-without-the-stupid-bits, AKA C#, was perfect. I liked the language enough at a technical level to spend time improving the packaging.

So what ARE your qualifications... go ahead, post your resume. Let me judge if I would hire you.

Ah, so you're fresh out of school.
