    I didn't have time to check out uutils, but I do routinely use ripgrep, it's great.

      I'm old enough that every time I read about this software I think it's related to uucp, uuencode, etc.......

            Rust binaries will be waaay bigger than coreutils one.

              Are you on a 2x86 PC or why does it matter? For truly embedded use there are even smaller alternatives.
