I guess it's time to put it in a duffel bag and drive it out to the country to bury it.

Not even 10 minutes and the first comment already references the criminal case.

And always someone commenting on a comment referencing the criminal case.... (No offence tildearrow)

Joking aside. It would be interesting if anyone still using ReiserFS could mention it in further comments and also mention why... What does ReiserFS offer that make it a viable option compared to all the other filesystems available.

And let he without sin cast the fists stone, but a murderer may perfectly well be capable of making a technically superior filesystem so while we can judge the author for his sickening behaviour in real life his computer life may be quite different.
(Ironically it often is quite the opposite for "forum warriors".)

Hans Reiser, the primary developer of this FS, strangled his wife to death and buried her in a duffel bag. He's up for parole again in 4 more years.

A murderer sitting in prison for his murder is not able to maintain a filesystem, no matter how "technically superior" it may have been 20 years ago.

It's always fun to witness how people try to distance themselves from a single criminal while at the same time they give 0 fucks about the fact that fundamentals of the most modern tech used in everyday life by everyone was developed during WW2 and Cold War and used directly by mass murderers.

You son of a bitch. Commenting on a comment about a comment. WTF is wrong with you?

I remember Reiser 4 more than I do ReiserFS because 4 is the one with inline compression. 4 was when Resier was starting to become interesting and could have been a good middle-ground between Ext4 and BTRFS if it was ever seriously picked up and adopted by a major distribution (that still applies to 5 now).

You kill one person, you're a statistic. You kill a million people, you're a statistician.
