I am responsible for hundreds of servers across several racks and rows. The only time I have had to take such drastic action was during a major electricity failure and we had only minutes left for a total blackout. I am also responsible for storage and backups. And my first though is always aimed at data consistency.
Then again, this is something that's ingrained when you work for Banking, Telco, etc.
