    Arch already uses zstd for packaging. If the old version of the package is still around as a .tar.zst on the user's system at the time of upgrading this should be pretty easy to do I guess.

      I wonder if this affects the copy of zstd included in the Linux kernel. The update to 1.5.2 means it merged an affected version, although whether the bad code path is actually executed is another matter. The copy in OpenZFS is 1.4.y, which means that OpenZFS dodged this issue by virtue of being conservative with compressor updates, since the issue was introduced in v1.5.0.
